strix — pixel-stretch photo editor Last updated: July 10, 2026

This policy covers the strix app on both iOS and Android. It is published by TNTLABS ("we").

The short version

strix does not collect, store, or transmit your photos. Everything you do to a photo happens on your device. We do not have a server, we do not have accounts, and we cannot see your images.

The app does show ads and offers a one-time purchase. Those two features involve Google and Apple, and they are the only paths by which any data leaves your device.

Photos and camera

When you pick a photo or take one with the camera, the image is decoded, edited, and rendered entirely on your device's GPU. Subject detection runs on-device as well — Vision on iOS, ML Kit on Android. No image, and no data derived from an image, is ever uploaded anywhere.

An edited image leaves the app only when you explicitly tap Share or Save. In that case it goes wherever you send it, and we are not involved.

The app requests these permissions:

| Permission | Why | | — | — | | Photo library (read) | To show your recent photos in the in-app grid so you can pick one | | Camera | To take a photo and edit it immediately | | Photo library (add) / Storage | To save the finished image, only when you tap Save |

Denying any of them leaves the rest of the app working.

Advertising

strix shows a full-screen ad when you share or save an image, unless you have purchased strix Pro. Ads are served by Google AdMob.

To serve ads, Google may collect and process device information — such as a device identifier, IP address, coarse location inferred from that IP address, and how you interacted with the ad. We do not receive this data, and we do not have access to it. What Google collects and how it is used is described in Google's Privacy Policy and in how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

Your choices

On iOS, strix asks for App Tracking Transparency permission. If you allow it, Google may use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) to personalize ads and measure them across apps. If you decline — which is the default — the IDFA is not available to the app or to Google, and you will see non-personalized ads instead. You can change this at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.

On Android, ads use your device's advertising ID. You can reset it or opt out of personalization in Settings › Google › Ads.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, strix presents Google's consent form before requesting any ad. Your choice there determines whether ads are personalized. You can reopen that form from the ad settings Google provides.

Declining tracking, or opting out of personalization, does not remove ads. Only purchasing strix Pro does that.
